Job Description – Chef

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Menu Planning
  • Preparation of scones and breakfasts each morning
  • Preparation of lunches and dinners for meals on wheels
  • Preparation of chicken, bacon etc for salad bar
  • Serving lunches
  • Portion Control
  • Minimising wastage
  • Placing orders with suppliers
  • Check and sign for all deliveries
  • Storage of deliveries and stock rotation
  • Catering for events such as Civic Receptions, Murder Mystery, parties etc.
  • Supervision and training of Catering Assistants and Kitchen Porters
  • Ensure quality of food at all time
  • Report any complaints or problems to Manager
  • Ensuring all HACCP regulations are adhered to

Hours: average 32 hours per week, this will increase when there are weekend events

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3pm with occasional weekends

Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role is essential.
