Depending on group size your tour generally lasts between 40-60 minutes.
Our tour sizes range from 2 to 20 people for single tours. Our minimum number required for a booking is 2 people.
Our tour is suitable for all ages.
There’s nothing on the tour designed to frighten you! However, because the cells are over 200 years old and quite dark, younger children can often get a little frightened. There’s also a few mannequins that might startle you, but we promise they won’t move!
Yes! We actively encourage it. Our tour guides are passionate about history and love it when students ask questions.
We recommend wearing warm clothing, particularly during the colder months. Flat shoes are also preferable.

Well worth a visit. The tour was fun and informative. Our guide was brilliant and really made the whole experience enjoyable. We also did the jailbreak and managed to get out in time. Staff really nice and reasonably priced event!

Went there today as a family of four, kids 14 and 12 and it was fantastic! We had lunch (lovely food and staff) before we did the tour. Our Gaoler/Guide was fantastic. He was helpful, funny, friendly and full of information. I couldn’t recommend the place highly enough. We had a fabulous day.

I took a blind leap and took a gang of children here recently for my child’s birthday, and wasn’t sure what to expect. I have to be honest. It was a roaring success. The staff were lovely, warm and accommodating. The warden was just a perfect fit for the role and was both informative and had the kids in fits of giggles. The adults found it just as enjoyable.
