Radiating in historic charm, The Old Courthouse has taken pride of place in Donegal’s County Town of Lifford for over 270 years. Today, it’s 18th Century Courtroom still maintains it’s stunning neo-classical design, with its marvellous windows and remarkable high ceilings, providing an intimate and unique venue for your special day.

We pride ourselves on our flexibility, allowing guests the opportunity to create their ideal dream day within the grounds of The Old Courthouse. Our Weddings at The Old Courthouse package provides you with everything you will need for your wedding celebration, and the ability to sculpt your own vision around this with any added extras you would like. After all, this is your dream day and our role is to help you make it a reality.

Couples are also provided with complimentary use of our historic Grand Jury Room for ceremonies, and with a large riverside courtyard to the rear of the building, ideal for a large marquee, the possibilities and configurations are endless for creating a ceremony that is perfect for you.

Enjoy your stunning wedding banquet in the comfort of our main Courtroom, catered by our experienced itchen team who will work with you to create the perfect menu for you and your guests. Then you can dance the night away in breathtaking surroundings, with everything you’d need to make perfect memories .

All Weddings at The Old Courthouse include complimentary use of our historic Grand Jury Room for your ceremony. Perfectly complimenting the charm of our Courtroom, the Grand Jury Room is steeped in history and is a wonderful room for an intimate ceremony, seating 50 guests.

For guests looking for an alternative, our large riverside Courtyard at the rear of the building provides a stunning outdoor space for ceremonies and our main Courtroom can also be adapted for ceremonies if requested, seating up to 150 guests.

We encourage you to put your own personality on your special day and are extremely happy for couples to use third party vendors for any aspect of their experience at The Old Courthouse. We will be delighted to assist you with this and in most cases can provide access to the venue the evening before the big day to accommodate any and all set up required.
